Fighting fire with fire: Controlled burn continues at Nags Head Woods

Controlled burning continues at Nags Head Woods Preserve today, Wednesday, March 13.

The prescribed burn aims to fight fire with fire by burning out excess vegetation, making it easier to battle any true brush fires.

Preserve officials have temporarily closed the Roanoke Trail and western Town Trail for safety reasons.
