Dominion Energy says a circuit was cut this morning, knocking out power to 4,711 customers in Kill Devil Hills. A witness reported seeing a work truck pull down power lines in the area of the First Flight schools.

The Town of Kill Devil Hills says traffic lights are not operating. Motorists are advised to use caution, and lower speeds.

Dominion has listed a wide restoration estimate of between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Generators were reportedly on at First Flight elementary, middle and high schools and classes continue.
