Dominick Ulmer pulled back on his line while his grandmother Melinda Bliven watched and grinned Friday afternoon.

The pair were fishing on the end of Jennette’s Pier Friday at noon when around 100 additional Manteo Elementary School third grade students visited on a field trip compliments of the Aquarium Scholars program offered by the N.C. Aquarium Society.

Dominick, who is in Ashlyn Taylor’s class, said he had several nibbles but didn’t catch anything as fishing remains slow along the Outer Banks thanks to a 50-degree ocean temperature.
