The Lost Colony Brewery and Cafe in downtown Manteo will be open Sunday, despite two “false threats of sick individuals who committed a FELONY” Saturday, the restaurant said in a Facebook post.

The first threat came before the restaurant opened, and the second before 6 p.m. Saturday.

Police shut down streets and approached the restaurant the Queen Elizabeth Avenue with guns drawn. Shortly after, roads were reopened and police were leaving the area, witnesses said.

By 6:30 p.m., an employee at the Lost Colony Brewery confirmed by phone that there had been a threat, but everyone was allowed back in the restaurant and police were clearing the scene.

The restaurant’s Facebook post said employees are doing fine after the threats, and “we are racking our brains for who could have such hatred for our great beers and food and are coming up short… must be Big Beer trying to keep us down.”
