Mary Catherine Welch Thomas, 89, formerly of Raleigh, NC passed away Monday, August 12, 2019, at her daughter’s home in Kill Devil Hills, NC. She was born February 23, 1930, in Bear Creek, NC to the late Michael Arthur Welch and Lena Mae Hunt Welch.
In addition to her parents and six brothers, Mary was preceded in death by both of her husbands, Ralph F. Owens and Lawrence E. Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter, Anne Owens Wood, husband Charles and her children Vanessa and Nicholas Thames; and her son, David Owens, wife Deloris and his children, Michael and Ian Owens.
A private family memorial service will be held. Entombment will take place at Montlawn Memorial Park, Raleigh, NC.
