Janelle Haywood Perry

Janelle Haywood Perry, 83, of Kitty Hawk, NC died Thursday, August 29, 2019, at Sentara Hospice House in Virginia Beach, VA.
A native of Colington, she was born April 9, 1936, to the late Clara Perry Haywood and Ernest L. Haywood.
A longtime member of Liberty Christian Fellowship and current member of Lighthouse Church, Janelle placed upmost importance on her church family. She loved walking especially on Kitty Hawk Woods Road and also enjoyed gardening.
Janelle is survived by her daughter, Sharon Perry Saunders (Skip Saunders) of Kitty Hawk; two grandchildren, Haley Sullivan (Judd Snapp) of Kitty Hawk and Owen Perry Sullivan (Jenna Gwaltney) of Manteo; two great-grandchildren, Finn and Jett Snapp; and a sister, Barbara Duvall (Bob Duvall) of Kill Devil Hills.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Pernell Jacklin Perry; and a brother, Gaskill Austin.
A funeral will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday, September 10, 2019, at Twiford Colony Chapel with Pastor Chris Wilson officiating. The family will receive friends and relatives one hour prior to the service. Private burial will take place at Austin Cemetery in Kitty Hawk.
