Everette Ernest “Eddie” Cary of Crawley, WV left this world July 23rd, 2019 while vacationing at the Outer Banks, NC. Mr. Cary was 79 years-old born in Clifton Forge, VA on June 11, 1940. Eddie was the son of the late E.B. Cary and Virginia Schleusener Cary of White Sulphur Springs, WV, and brother, Colonel James Cary, aged 76 of Highland, CA.

Mr. Cary is survived by his wife of 32 years, Gilda Burns Cary. Mr. Cary’s children are, Eric Burns (Crawley), Jennifer Cary (Salem, VA), Lisa Hill, (Crawley); Kimberly Burns, (Crawley); Tara Burns, (Crawley); Debbie Ann Young, (White Sulphur Springs), Nicole Cary (Crawley), Steve Johnston (Crawley) and 12 grandchildren and his extended family includes his life-long friends Clarence Bostic and Red Fury both of White Sulphur Springs.

Mr. Cary graduated from White Sulphur High School in June 1958, attended Greenbrier Military School, Lewisburg, WV and Concord College, Athens, WV. Mr. Cary entered military service at Fort Jackson, SC, on October 23, 1961, and after completing basic training, he received his Advanced Individual Training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO as a Construction Engineer Machine Operator and a Bulldozer Operator with duty at Fort Belvoir, VA and the Federal Republic of Germany. Mr. Cary left military service in June 1965. He served his country with great distinction; his awards include the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Reserve Component Achievement Medal.

He owned and operated several businesses in his lifetime including a trucking company, a very successful mobile home sales, a pager company and lastly, for 33 years Republic Ambulance Service in Low Moor, VA. Mr. Cary’s business acumen was without question or peer.
As his Granddaughter, Cinceria Cary posted on Facebook, “R.I.P Pap, you were the best pap ever, we love you and miss you, and we will never forget you.”
