Dixie Joan Holland Hodges, 84, of Nags Head, NC died Monday, August 5, 2019, at Peak Resources – Outer Banks.
Born in Washington, DC on December 13, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Tela Virginia Parker and Chesley Gwaltney.
Dixie spent her career as a well-respected licensed practical nurse. She had a love for people and a great sense of humor.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Hodges; and her cousin who was more like her sister, Jane L. Crusie.
Dixie is survived by a half-brother, Dennis Gwaltney; and numerous cousins.
Private entombment will be held at Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, Virginia.
